Run, Hide, Fight is a video that gives some specific examples of things that can be done in emergency potential mass casualty situations. This could be a terrorist attack, a disgruntled client, an upset spouse, jealous suitor, or anyone else looking to cause harm to innocent people. The number of these situations seems to be on rise so having some idea of what to do is a beneficial.
Take a look at the video:
This depiction was for an office environment. Different locations would require differing solutions. What works in an office is not comparable to a movie theater or restaurant. The principles are maybe the same. However, the order in which they may be employed my differ.
By nature of our free society, the typical citizen is not exposed to close quarter battle drills, or counter ambush techniques such as practiced by ground combat forces or police officers. Thank goodness. However, it is a good idea for private citizens to give some consideration as to what to do if civil order breaks down and there is no Superman or Wonder Woman around to arrest and repel the evil doers, or to take charge and lead people to safety.
This video was produced by the City of Houston Mayor’s Office and was funded by a grant from the Department of Homeland Security. I’m going to give this a thumbs up for tax money well spent. This at least gets people thinking about things they can do. Don’t be a helpless victim. Give some thought, have a plan, and put it in effect
