What Is the Best Home Loan In San Antonio?

The best home loans in San Antonio, in my opinion, have most of these features:

searching for a good loan and a good loan officer

  • Lowest annual rate
  • Low upfront costs to the  buyer
  • No pre-payment penalty
  • Allows for assumption by a
qualified subsequent buyer without an onerous penalty
  • Proven track record of
loan processing on a schedule that is predictable
  • A history of Closing and funding loans as originally agreed

There are several good Lenders and loan programs available in San Antonio. (The Lender is
the bank or the entity furnishing the money for the transaction.) In addition to the lending institution, a home buyer also has to take into account and rely on the Loan Officer who is responsible with shepherding the loan through the Lenders process.

A home buyer will usually speak to the Loan Officer to get the ball rolling. The Loan Officer provides information about the available loan products that seems to best suit the home buyer. The Loan Officer also obtains the preliminary home loan application. In some instances, the home buyer may never hear from the Loan Officer again. If that is the case, the next point of contact for the home buyer will be a Loan Processor or a member of a Loan Processing Team.

Count on the Loan Processor to coordinate the documents required to get your loan through processing, underwriting, and final approval.

If I am your San Antonio REALTOR©, I do not select your lender. If you want to conduct your Due Diligence and select a Lender, I’m not opposed to that. I have, however, worked with and observed the services offered by a number of Loan Officers over the years. I can provide you information
on Loan Officers who have worked with my clients with success. I am not paid by these service providers to make referrals to them. I only offer recommendation because it helps financially qualified clients obtain home loans. Since one of my functions is to help people buy houses, knowing of  qualified, competent funding sources is part of my job.

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is raising fees to borrowers April 1, 2012. I’ll  have a post about this later this month.
